the castle

a journey through time a few steps from the village

the castle

From the village, a small road immersed in the woods leads in five minutes of walking to the castle, a conglomerate of buildings remodeled over the centuries that today presents itself with its own unique harmony. The structure, placed in a prominent position with respect to the cultivation level of the entire Estate, is located in the highest area of the property. It is an enchanted place that man has inhabited since ancient times, with pre-existing Etruscan, Roman and medieval remains. The charm of the internal and external spaces was, among other things, entirely the protagonist of the film “Speriamo che sia femmina” by Mario Monicelli. The great charm of the place is due both to the construction and the presence of a tower from 1250 AD, now isolated from the main body, and to a village of houses (all perfectly renovated) built at the end of the 19th century right where there once was the drawbridge and the moat.
